2-DAY SUMMER INSTITUTE:
EXPLORING WASTE AND WATER IN LOS ANGELES

August 3 & 4, 2016

This summer learn about key environmental issues facing Los Angeles County, and how your 

students are a part of the solution! During this two-day institute take a close look at urban 

waste and water systems to understand their impact on the environment. See how to use 

service learning to address these issues, engage students, and improve your school campus. 

Learn about:


Key waste and water issues in Los Angeles

Auditing techniques for schools and $200 Visa gift card

Creating an environmental service learning project

Common Core and NGSS correlation materials

Personalized project support

FREE bus for a project-related field trip

Community Resource Fair

Field trip to local landfill

Los Angeles County middle and high school teachers, advisors, administrators, and faculty
