Note From the President
Hi Everyone!
Here it is again - time for show season!
Winter is finally on its way out and I know I have the show "bug" and
I'm sure many of you do, too, so the Board and I are getting all geared up and
ready to go on May 18. Boardmember Sharon Carnefix and I will
be the show managers this year, so you'll see us in the booth at sign-up
time.
We are also thrilled to have two new
boardmembers, Renee Dierdorff and Pam Himes. You may have noticed a
change in the look of the newsletter and that is due to Renee's hard
work. Thanks, Renee! Our new website is up and running, too! That
is due in large part to the efforts of Pam, who has graciously agreed to take
on the task of maintaining it. Thanks, Pam! We have both Pam and
Renee to thank for trying to get us into the electronic age in the registration
booth, too! Hopefully, being computerized will make the paperwork aspect
of showing more efficient for exhibitors and show management alike. Both
Pam and Renee will be showing at CSHA shows this year, so you'll get to meet
them both.
Thanks are due to all the boardmembers who do a lot
of work throughout the year. Dessa
Bergquist is our treasured Treasurer and, along with keeping us in the black
throughout the year, also helps often in the office at the shows. Anne Raskey is in charge of ribbons and
awards (both daily and year-end) so you can thank her when you win that really
nice high-point! Patricia Rothdiener is our membership chairman
and has also been in charge of trail courses in the past, which is quite a
chore since she also shows her horse, Te, in the shows. Sharon
Carnefix is on the Judges Committee and is an all-around great help,
too. We have a lot of great gals on the Board and I'm very grateful
to each and every one of them.
In closing, we're looking forward to a great year
this year. As many of you know, the Dare 2 Share show series will not be
happening this year, and we expect we may have a few more participants in our
shows because of that. Regardless, though, we intend to try and keep the
fun and easygoing atmosphere that we have been known for in the past.
Please do not hesitate to e-mail or call any one of us on the board (our
contact numbers are listed here in the Newsletter) if you have any questions or
concerns. I hope to see you in May!

We Really Need More Sponsors! |
|
The
Colorado
Stock Horse Association survives purely by donations of sponsorship dollars and
volunteer time. We are looking for 2008
sponsors. Sponsorship dollars are used
for prizes, show management and advertising, arena rental and judge costs. All dollars given are reinvested into the
show series. If you would like to become
a sponsor or volunteer, you will be recognized in the newsletter
and on our website www.coloradostockhorse.com
for your sponsorship. All Sponsorships are not donations but are
advertising expense for businesses which are deductible! We thank you
