Thank you for your continued support of our GSUSA destinations program here at Outward Bound Costa Rica. We are excited to be returning for another season in 2013!
We've updated our destinations courses to include a broader range of adventure activities and service projects. Read below to learn how your Girl Scouts can build character through new challenges, all while making long-lasting friendships with girls from across the nation.
Girl Scouts explore Panama's fascinating marine and coastal life on the Caribbean Coast. In addition to learning to SCUBA dive, this 14-day course has been updated to include a service project designed to protect the endangered sea turtle population of Panama! The girls will also see Costa Rica during a day of whitewater rafting and a zipline canopy tour.
Girl Scouts will empower themselves by learning to surf on famous warm water breaks along the Pacific Coast. This 10-day course brings the girls to Playa Avellanas, where they'll be camping on the beach and challenging themselves as they take on the waves! Later on the girls will participate in a service project and will explore Costa Rica through adventure activities, including a day of whitewater rafting and a zipline canopy tour.
For Girl Scouts seeking an opportunity to make a difference, this 14-day course will give them the power to do just that. The girls will volunteer on two major projects: they will first work in an indigenous village to improve the local community and later will help to protect the endangered sea turtle population while working at a conservation refuge along the coast. They'll enjoy the rest of their time in Costa Rica exploring local markets, ziplining through the rainforest and battling the rapids with a day of whitewater rafting.
We're proud to be offering one of our most popular courses yet again this year. On this course Girl Scouts will hike through remote parts of the jungle and experience cultural traditions in local homestays. They'll round out their time with a whitewater rafting excursion and a trip to a famous Pacific Coast beach while completing a meaningful service project. This 14-day course gives girls a taste of all that Costa Rica has to offer.
This year, we're offering two options for our conservation-focused Girl Scouts. In Session #1 of this course, Girl Scouts will dedicate their winter vacation to 5 days of sea turtle conservation.
Girl Scouts who are looking for more than service opportunities can stay for a full 9 days with Session #2 and experience a day of ziplining and a trip to a local artisan market, in addition to other adventure activities.
