Dear Friends of the Mid-Atlantic Catholic Schools Consortium, I hope that you have found time this summer to relax, rest and spend unhurried time with your family and friends. The summer months seem to pass all too quickly for most of us. At the Consortium we are busy planning for our inaugural Pastor and Principal Institute which will bring together 25 Pastor and Principal teams, invited from across the Mid-Atlantic region, to participate in a unique program designed to enhance and strengthen their leadership skills as they continue to develop, sustain, and lead an excellent Catholic School. We hope that our participants will be inspired and renewed to create a collaborative environment to effectively manage the Catholic schools of the future as they benefit from the experience of your peers and national experts who will serve as presenters and consultants to this project. The Institute begins in October and concludes in June 2009. We will provide updates on this project throughout the year. Our first annual report will be available soon and we look forward to sharing this with you as we reflect on our early accomplishments and plan our work for the coming year. As we enter the month of August, our superintendents and their colleagues are planning for the opening of our schools later this month and in early September. We know that our children and teachers will be welcomed back with the wonderful enthusiasm and optimism that we associate with the first day of school. While you plan your back to school shopping, we hope you will take advantage of the discounts available to you through Office Depot and the other US Communities vendors. Your online purchases through Office Depot save you time and money and provide rebates back to your diocese to support their Catholic Schools.
Check out the monthly features such as Diocesan News and an Energy Savings Tip. We continue to benefit from the prayers and generosity and confidence of each of you. Thank you so much.
With every best wish for a happy and safe August.
