Many of the dachshunds coming into rescue are sick, injured, or simply medically neglected. The Vet costs often exceed the adoption fee that is collected. From dental exams that sometimes result in multiple teeth extractions, surgeries for dogs down, and heartworm treatments, these fees can easily surpass what many could pay in an adoption fee.How do we balance the books? We rely of the generosity of dachshund lovers all over the country to pay the medical bills. In the spring, we're planning our next fundraiser. We need your help... THEY need your help...

Coming in April, AADR will be hosting an online auction fundraiser. Fundraising is obviously an important part of the mission of AADR - it's what pays the bills! This auction provides an exciting opportunity for AADR and our partners. AADR, through BiddingForGood.com, will host an online auction. BiddingForGood.com is an online auction service for philanthropies and non-profit organizations. Here's how this event benefits AADR: It - Provides exposure for AADR in a community of 220,000 bidders who frequent BiddingForGood.com auctions
- Broadens the awareness of AADR and our mission as well as the generosity of those individuals and organizations that provide goods and services to be auctioned
HERE'S 2 WAYS YOU CAN HELP -
You can donate an item (new or like new) to sell at the auction to help one of our dogs like Boo! (Read Boo's story) To offer an item for the auction, please contact Diane Irwin at aadrpresident@gmail.com. If you or someone you know would be interested in donating an item, please contact Diane to make arrangements to get the item listed.
- To bid on items during the auction, there will be links to the auction provided on the AADR home page in April!
WE NEED FOSTER HOMES!

Do you have room in your heart (and your lap) for one of the countless homeless dachshunds out there? It's hard to let them go, yes, but the rewards are huge. When you provide temporary care for an abandonded, neglected, or abused dachshund, you give that dog a chance to have a life like the life you've provided for your own pets. Visit our website and complete an foster home application to get started.

When Tater came into rescue she was shy and easily startled. Now she romps and plays with her foster siblings. If you are looking for a sweet dachshund to add to your family, look no further!
