finallogoonlyforwebsite.jpg

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is required by law to set income limits that determine the eligibility of applicants for HUD's assisted housing programs.

Effective May 14, 2010, HUD has released the median family income (MFI) and income distribution estimates for Fiscal Year (FY) 2010. They are calculated for each metropolitan and nonmetropolitan area using the Fair Market Rent (FMR) area definitions applied in the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. The estimated MFI for the United States for FY2010 is $64,400. For information about methodologies used to calculate these estimates, visit HUD's website.

Chester County income levels apply to the Philadelphia Metropolitan Statistical Area.  Chester County is an entitlement jurisdiction that receives federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME), and Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
