Free Tax Preparation Program for Low-Income Chester County Residents

The Chester County Department of Community Development, in an effort to spread the word about Share the Blessing, is proud to support Life Transforming Ministries in promoting this volunteer campaign. DCD_logo.jpeg.jpg

Share the Blessing is a tax preparation service, provided at no charge to low-income individuals and families by trained volunteers who are coordinated and supported by Life Transforming Ministries.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program:

Volunteers sponsored by Life Transforming Ministries receive IRS-certified training through the VITA program.

Volunteers with little or no experience will be trained and certified by the IRS in preparing basic income tax returns.  They can assist with special credits such as Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, and Credit for the Elderly where applicable.

Volunteer as a Tax Preparer

Life Transforming Ministries is currently recruiting volunteers.  Interested candidates are encouraged to sign up online to receive email updates, register to volunteer, or to find out more about tax preparation training.

Share the Blessing sites will be open from February 2 to April 14, 2009 and will be available in Coatesville, West Chester, and Phoenixville.

If you or your organization have interest in partnering and would like more information about the Share the Blessing program, contact Life Transforming Ministries at inbox@quietrevolution.org.
