Did you know that as a recipient of federal funding, DCD is mandated to support efforts that affirmatively further fair housing in Chester County? 

Despite the Fair Housing Act and other laws that prohibit discrimination, community-based organizations have reported that cases of housing discrimination continue to exist in our area. 

In the first quarter of 2009, DCD partnered with the Chester County Planning Commission and the Fair Housing Council of Suburban Philadelphia (FHCSP) to provide education about zoning and land use, as it relates to fair housing, for local municipalities and planners.  Information presented at these seminars about the Fair Housing Act is available on DCD's Fair Housing webpage, along with a Fair Housing Fact Sheet on Zoning and Land Use developed by FHCSP.
