On Saturday, July 25, 2009, DCD was recognized with a special Un-sung Hero award from the Brandywine Center in Coatesville for directly impacting the “healing” of the Coatesville community after the winter arsons, for outstanding generosity and for helping to unify the spirit of the Coatesville community.

Patrick Bokovitz, Director of the Chester County DCD (pictured standing, right side) was "privileged to receive the award on behalf of the entire Department for efforts in assisting families impacted by the Coatesville arsons."
