Urban Center Funding Requires Reviews and Updates to Municipal Plans

Urban Center Revitalization Plan (UCRP)

The Chester County Department of Community Development (DCD) and the Chester County Planning Commission have collaborated to prepare 2009 Guidelines for UCRP updates. DCD_logo.jpeg.jpg

The preparation of a UCRP is the first step in implementing an effective urban revitalization program.  To properly serve as the road map by which redevelopment and reinvestment will occur, updates are necessary to ensure that UCRP's remain active planning tools for strategic Community Revitalization Plan (CRP) investment.

The Chester County Commissioners have awarded Urban Centers over $26 million in CRP funding since 2002.

2009 CRP funding will add to this figure when allotted to Chester County Urban Centers in the coming weeks.

Maintain Consistent Priorities

Action Plan updates must address consistency with the UCRP set of goals and objectives for these key topics:

  • Economic Development
  • Housing
  • Infrastructure and Transportation
  • Public Facilities
