Resources to Support Chester County's Labor Force

PACareerLink®-Chester County has released their job openings list for June 2010. WIB_for_web.gif

Job-seekers are encouraged to make use of the easy-to-access PACareerLink® online resources or to visit the Chester County CareerLink office, located at 250 East Harmony Street in Coatesville, PA.

Check the PACareerLink®-Chester County Calendar of Events for scheduled activities being held in June.

Professionals at PACareerLink®-Chester County are available to assist job-seekers in connecting to occupations which fit their qualifications and to provide personalized assistance for recruitment and placement of employees.

Employers are encouraged to access the convenient job posting and recruitment system on the Commonwealth Workforce Development System.

Career Transition Workshop:  Insight and Tips for Succeeding in a Difficult Job Market

Where:  Penn State Great Valley - 30 East Swedesford Road, Malvern, PA 19355

When:  Friday, June 18, 2010 from 1-4 pm

This event will feature a panel consisting of the directors of the Chester County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) and PACareerLink®-Chester County, who will be discussing services available to all Pennsylvania residents.

Additional panelists will discuss how to use social media when searching for a job, working with external recruiters, resume writing, interviewing skills, and other job search tips.  There will be a question and answer session following the panel discussion.

This FREE event is open to all.  Registration is required.

STEM Conference for High School Educators, Counselors

A unique STEM-focused conference for high school guidance counselors, career counselors, and educators in all subject areas is being presented FREE of charge!  Educators receive Act 48 credits for attending.

Where:  Penn State Abington - 1600 Woodland Road, Abington, PA 19001 

When:  June 24, 2010 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

The Pennsylvania STEM Initiative is a statewide effort dedicated to preparing the Commonwealth for global competitiveness through a strategy of enhanced Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education and career development opportunities for Pennsylvania students and communities. 

Faculty members and community leaders from various disciplines will share their expertise incorporating STEM-related activities into the classroom across all subject matters, building interest in STEM careers among high school students, and STEM workforce needs today and in the future.
