After the successful introduction of the 2009 Infinity Leadership Program for students, the 2010 program is open to La Trobe current students and alumni who have graduated since 2007, who are aspiring to leadership roles.

It provides an opportunity for participants to develop their knowledge of leadership and to extend their skills and experiences by putting leadership into practice. Applications are now open for the 2010 program. Read more

‘4us’, a series of four short documentaries, has been developed by researchers in the Refugee Health Research Centre at La Trobe University and community artists alongside refugee young people, to explore their experiences of settling in Australia.  Read more

Vice-Chancellor at the India Independance Day CelebrationLa Trobe values tolerance and safety

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Paul Johnson, recently wrote to all students to confirm that “La Trobe University is committed to a set of key values that underpin all of our work: responsibility, relevance, critical enquiry, integrity, participation and excellence. It is important to the whole La Trobe community that all our students and staff feel safe and respected while at the University"

Last year's India Independence Day celebration is an illustration of the University’s long-standing tradition of inclusion. The event was attended by staff of La Trobe, Indian and non-Indian students and members of the Indian community.  Read more in Uni News 25 August 2008

Tips to write and sell work achievements in your résumé

Achievements are an important part of your résumé, more so perhaps than responsibilities and should be given prime résumé real estate. If you have achievements already listed in your resume, be sure that they are engaging to the reader and actually quantify and or qualify what you achieved. If they are fairly un-inspiring due to how you have presented them or if you have more exciting and relevant examples, please include these. Think of the reader. A couple of great achievements well written paint a positive picture and outshine a long list of basic and poorly written achievements. Read more

NEW COURSE

Postgraduate students imageMaster of Marketing Management

From July 2009, the Graduate School of Management will offer a brand new Master of Marketing Management course. This course has been developed as a response to a rise in demand from employers around the world seeking graduates with the skill-set to manage a marketing function.

The Graduate School of Management was recently the first business school in Victoria to adopt the UN-backed Principles of Responsible Management Education. This means that graduates from this course will come out holding an internationally recognised degree in marketing management and will possess the ability to manage all aspects of marketing in a socially responsible manner.  Read more
