Dear Alumni
A Message from the Vice-Chancellor
During the past few months, the world has been rocked by a series of catastrophic events including floods throughout much of Australia, earthquakes in New Zealand, and more recently the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
At times like these, we are reminded that La Trobe University is an international institution, with an alumni community living in more than 100 countries around the globe. We are deeply aware that some of our alumni may be experiencing extraordinary hardship at this time. Some of you may have been directly impacted by these traumatic events and others may have friends and family who have been affected.
On behalf of the entire University, I offer my deepest sympathy at this challenging time.
Professor Paul Johnson
Vice-Chancellor and President
La Trobe University

Looking for a New Job? Do your Due Diligence Before Signing the Contract
Time and time again people accept jobs and leave, or become dis-enchanted after the honeymoon period has worn off. This can occur for a variety of reasons that are beyond your control, including a change of management or leadership. However, factors such as broken promises from the verbal / written contract, scope of the job, team, clients and so on can often be better researched and thus addressed up front before accepting the job.
