Joe Tavares, Director of the College Access & Opportunity Guide, joined The Scholarship Lady on blogtalkradiosm October 20 for a segment titled “Opportunity Knocking for First-Generation College Students.”
 Joe discussed the distinct need for the College Access & Opportunity Guide and how the publication aims to demystify the college-going process for first-generation and other traditionally underserved college-bound students.
Joe emphasized that college opportunity does exist for these first-generation, low-income, and minority college-bound students – and he highlighted a few initiatives featured in the College Access & Opportunity Guide that demonstrate how these colleges and universities are committed to college access, opportunity and success.
