Colonial Inauguration and the Guide to Personal Success Program (GPS)
The University offers this summer orientation program to incoming freshman, transfer and international students. It is a two and half day event led by the Colonial Cabinet, a diverse group of student leaders who introduce students to academic advisors and current students, help them learn about academic and extra-curricular opportunities, and help them get to know their fellow classmates. Additionally, programs are provided for parent, guardians and siblings. Once students arrive on campus in the fall, they are assigned a Guide to Personal Success (GPS), a knowledgeable George Washington University staff member who helps them navigate any personal, professional, or experiential issues, and connects them with University resources.
