Multicultural Council of Presidents (MCOP)
The Multicultural Council of Presidents is a student-run leadership council which serves as the umbrella network for the University’s numerous cultural organizations. The council is dedicated to embracing and ensuring the University’s unwavering commitment to diversity. As part of their mission, the Council facilitates the collaboration of students on intercultural initiatives to create a community, forum, and an awareness of multicultural issues.

Dartmouth College

Dartmouth Bound
Each year, Dartmouth's admissions office selects a distinguished group of
college-bound rising seniors from across the nation to participate in the
Dartmouth Bound programs, and the recently announced 2009 sessions are as
follows: Dartmouth Bound: Great Issues (July 23-25), Dartmouth Bound: Global
Health & Society (August 6-8), and Dartmouth Bound: Native American
Community (October 4-7). Each session is designed to provide opportunities
for students to visit Dartmouth's campus, gain exposure to academic life and
opportunities in an Ivy League setting, and learn about the admissions and
financial aid process. Program participants will receive complimentary
transportation to campus and overnight accommodations in Dartmouth residence
halls. Many participants will be first generation in their families to
attend college or come from populations that have historically been
under-represented in higher education, but students from all backgrounds
with a demonstrated interest in these themes and topics may apply to the
programs. Applications to the July and August sessions are due June 1;
applications to the October session are due August 24. For more information

The Enrichment Scholarships
The Enrichment Scholarships are offered to qualified students who are members of traditionally underrepresented groups. Elmhurst College does not limit this designation to racial or ethnic minorities, as scholarships can, depending upon circumstances, be given to international students or students who have overcome significant barriers to enroll at Elmhurst. The award is valued at $7,000 and recipients must be enrolled on a full-time, degree-seeking basis. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years, given the recipient maintains full-time enrollment and a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above. Applicants must complete the admission application by May 1 to be considered for an Enrichment Scholarship.

The Success Connection (TSC)
The Success Connection is a mentoring/tutoring initiative to enhance the student's academic and social experience. This programming utilizes the knowledge and skills of retired faculty, staff, and Lincoln alumni to assist in areas such as study habits, organizational skills, and test preparation, as well as social and character development. This initiative encourages networking with resources already established within the University, and it aids in establishing a proactive approach to retaining students. The Success Connection instills in each student the sense of ownership and responsibility that is necessary for academic success.

Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) & Early Connection Opportunity (ECO)
The University of Rochester’s HEOP and ECO programs are designed to serve students of diverse racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. HEOP addresses the specific needs of students who have had economic or educational challenges in high school. For eligible students, HEOP provides a strong support network, academic advising, personal counseling, and substantial financial assistance. Meanwhile, ECO is designed to help students positively and appropriately establish themselves within the academic setting. The program teaches participants about the attitudes, skills, and social connections necessary to be successful students at the university. ECO prepares students for classes, informs them about services and introduces them to social life on campus.

Student Support Services
Student Support Services (SSS) at the University of San Diego is a program designed to provide opportunities for academic development, assist students with college requirements, and help to retain and motivate students toward the successful completion of their postsecondary education. SSS enrolls up to 160 students who are either first generation college students, come from low-income families, have a disability, or a combination of the three. Support services include academic counseling/advising, tutoring, career counseling, personal counseling, faculty/student mentoring, cultural activities, financial aid assistance, workshops and graduate school application assistance.
