African American Men of Arizona State University Program (AAMASU)
The African American Men of Arizona State University Program is designed to positively impact the recruitment, persistence and graduation of male African-American college students. The program brings high school juniors and seniors — and their parents — to campus to prepare them for university enrollment, retention and graduation. The program provides a critical connection to Arizona State for potential and current university students. Events such as the Fall Leadership Conference, the Carter G. Woodson lecture series and various spoken-word performances serve as an invaluable complement to the academic rigor of workshops.

Pitzer College
Claremont, CA
Diversity Program
In encouraging minority students to visit, apply, and enroll at the college, Pitzer invites approximately 50 high school seniors from these backgrounds for a three-day paid visit during the fall and spring semesters. The fall program is for prospective applicants and the spring program is for admitted students. During each program, students stay with an overnight host in a residence hall, attend classes and meet members of the Pitzer community, admission and financial aid staff. The fall program helps prospective applicants learn about the selection process and how to apply for financial aid. In the spring, an emphasis is placed on learning more about student life. During both programs, participants may also interview with an admissions officer or representative.
