The Case/CSP Partnership supports underrepresented, low-income and first-generation students through programs that prepare students to transition from high school to college, acclimate them to university life and help students develop academic skills and habits that will ensure academic success. Participants are further supported with academic advising, tutoring, mentoring, career coaching and additional financial aid.

This program is designed to assist new minority students to become integrated into campus life at Georgia College. Through a relationship with an experienced peer counselor (MAP Mentor), the new student will be guided through his/her freshman year. The Prairie View A&M University sponsored Institute for Pre-College Enrichment (PCI) is a two-week residential summer program for talented high school students. The mission of PCI is to help prepare high school students for the new school year and to assist them in making early plans to pursue a college education in an area that interests them most. Students entering 12th grade receive emphasis on essay writing, college application, funding for college, scholarship awareness and leadership. In addition, students learn about careers through participation in professional skills symposia and workshops such as Architecture Enrichment Concepts, Business for Academic and Scholarly Inclined Students, Minority Introduction to Engineering and Science and Theater and Arts and Music Enrichment.

In 2006, the program distributed $2.5 million in scholarship support. Western Illinois has an ambitious scholarship program and includes a number of offerings specifically for entering minority students, including the DuSable scholarship ($1,000 per year, renewable at $500), the Western Opportunity Grant ($1,000), the Western Opportunity Scholarship ($500 to $2,000) and the Student Services Minority Achievement Access/Retention Grant (multiple awards ranging from $500 to $1,000).
