OSCAR HOPES FADE BUT MOMENTUM CONTINUES We were disappointed to discover this morning that UNDER OUR SKIN was not among the finalists selected for best documentary feature by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. No medical film has received a nomination in recent memory, so we were honored and grateful to be among the 15 semifinalists, which gave the film and issue of Lyme disease unprecedented visibility. We will continue to build upon this momentum as we move forward and good news accumulates. Just today, for example, we learned that the film received its sixth "Best Documentary" award--this time at the Fargo Film Festival in infamous Fargo, ND. Open Eye Pictures is humbled by the support of all its UNDER OUR SKIN friends and fans, without whom we wouldn't have gotten as far as we have, or as far as we still have to go! __________________________________________________UOS IN NEWSTANDS & TAXICABS: PEOPLE MAGAZINE & MORE
A 30-second trailer of the film is also currently showing in 1,200 cabs in New York City, playing 66,000 times a day. That means the video will get about 1.8 million impressions this month. We will keep you informed about new press developments as we continue our campaign to increase visibility of the hidden Lyme disease epidemic and the broken health care system it implicates. ‣ View the theatrical trailer now
