NEXT MONTH IS LYME AWARENESS MONTH: SPREAD THE WORD
Recent studies show that the incident of Lyme disease is spiking across the globe: Maine reports a three-fold increase, Minnesota a four-fold increase, and Europe also shows an alarming rise. While the illness and issue of Lyme disease deserve year-round attention, May is official Lyme Disease Awareness Month, and Open Eye Pictures wants to encourage community screenings of UNDER OUR SKIN to help promote Lyme awareness.
As a way to support grassroots efforts, for all community screenings of the film during the month of May, we'll send 25 Lyme awareness bracelets and 25 bumper stickers free of charge to your event organizer or organization.

OUR SKIN CAUSES STIR IN EDUCATIONAL MARKET
The most respected U.S. library trade journal has "highly recommended" UNDER OUR SKIN to librarians across the country. Some excerpts from the review: "When Lyme disease emerged in the early 1980s, it was thought to be
a brief, easily treatable ailment. Now it appears that the causative
bacterium...can have long-term effects on those
thought to be cured, or on those who never knew they were infected.... This excellent
film explores the connections between [the] IDSA and various insurance and
pharmaceutical firms that have an interest in denying that prolonged
Lyme disease exists, let alone that it is treatable. As a result,
thousands of people have needlessly suffered and died and many more will
continue to do so. One hopes this film will help to raise public
awareness and incite outrage; it deserves wide distribution. Highly
recommended for all viewers."
