NRC Implements Emergency Deer Regs
.jpg) MUCC has been reporting on the 2012 outbreak of EHD in Southern Michigan since it began in July.However,
even prior to this MUCC’s Wildlife Committee drafted a resolution
requesting that the DNR carefully monitor the impacts of EHD and take
action if warranted to minimize the impact of this disease on the deer
population in Southern Michigan. Director Creagh signed an emergency order on antlerless permits in response to the spreading EHD virus. FIND OUT HOW THEY AFFECT YOU
Brook Trout: Settled for now?
 At the November monthly Natural Resources Commission meeting, DNR
Director Keith Creagh made important adjustments to his plans for
doubling the brook trout bag limit in the Upper Peninsula as outlined in
the revised Fisheries Order 200. The Bottom Line
Poaching Bill Passes Out of Committee
 A bill based on an MUCC resolution unanimously passed out of the
Senate committee on Outdoor Recreation and Tourism on Thursday, November
8 th.
The bill, SB 1340, increases the restitution value for poaching trophy whitetail by using the Boone & Crockett scoring system to determine the value. READ MORE

Deer Season Prospect Report

and prospect report last week, providing hunters some insight as to what
they can expect and where they might be able to catch that big buck

S.B. 1350 on Wolves Passes Committee
.jpg) The Fisheries Division has proposed an increase of Brook Trout possession limits in select streams across the Upper Peninsula.
The proposal incorporates a new trout stream category. These Type 5
trout streams will allow for the possession of 10 Brook Trout, an
increase from the statewide 5, and the minimum size limit will be 7
