Letter from the Executive Directordavid.jpg

Dear Vera,

Thank you for your support! This past year has been a great one for Global Lives -- we've produced preview installations in 5 cities around the world, completed shoots in China and Indonesia, hired our first staff, and involved more than 100 new volunteer collaborators in our work. We have ambitious plans for an additional four shoots next year in Asia and Europe, as well the official launch of our 10-screen installation in Tokyo and San Francisco. At the same time, we are working hard to release a new version of our website that will accept video submissions from around the world - an interactive video library of human life experience.

We can't do all this great work alone. As we begin the new year, we invite you to get involved, and we trust this quarter's newsletter will provide opportunities for you to "step out of your world." We look forward to having you join us. Many thanks again!

Happy holiday wishes,

David Evan Harris, Executive Director

    Support Global Lives ProjectNewChipIn121608.jpg

We are honored to have received grants this year from the Adobe Foundation and the Burwen Education Foundation, as well as additional support from the Sony, the Institute for the Future and the Long Now Foundation. Grants help us produce video shoots, such as our recent China and Indonesia projects. So far, with only 2.5 weeks to the end of the year:

  • We've raised $28,450 (our goal is $60,000). Chip in today to help us meet our goal >>

  • 20 people have contributed over $25 and will get a limited edition of the Global Lives DVD. There are a few left!

  • The average donation has been about $45, and it has all been from individuals like you! No matter the size of your gift, we thank you.
