Get Set for Spring There's just something special about spring...warmer weather, brighter skies, and even a better outlook on life. It's the perfect time to get rid of some of the winter drudgeries--both in your house AND in your body. Here are a few tips to feeling your best this March!
1. Give It Away! Come on, everyone's got some. Clothes that don't fit anymore. Books you've already read once and aren't going to read again. Sports equipment that's just sitting there. Even electronics you've replaced with bigger and better models. Well, one person's "junk" is another person's treasure. So go through your useable, but unwanted piles of stuff, and give it away to one of our local thrift stores. Not only will you clear out your closets, you'll feel good about yourself for giving to others.
2. Throw It Out. And what about all that stuff that's not good enough to give away? Don't be a pack-rat! Toss out everything you're not using (and can't donate). If you haven't used it in years, but are clinging to it anyway, take the plunge and throw it out. You'll be amazed at how refreshed it makes you feel.
3. Have Some Fun! Sure, spring cleaning may not be everyone's favorite activity. But it can still be fun if you approach it with a little creativity. Get the kids together--or a group of friends--and have contests to see who can get jobs done fastest. Give prizes to the winners. Then treat everyone to a delicious lunch or dinner either in-house out on the town.
4. Get In Shape. Now's the perfect time to start thinking about getting in shape. Winter is melting all around us, and in just a few months' time you'll be talking about hitting the beach! So if you've let your exercise regimen slack a bit over the cold winter months, NOW is the time to join a gym, tune-up your bicycle, register for yoga, or just make it a habit to take an afternoon walk with friends.
