ImagePorters Progress UK

Porters' Progress UK facilitates the safe treatment, education and empowerment of adult and child trekking and commercial porters and their communities through appropriate programmes, with priority given to creating change within the trekking industry.

From our inception we have believed that a true and durable solution to the problems that porters face can only come from porters themselves. Accordingly it is our vision that the Porters’ Progress projects around the world will ultimately be self-sustaining, independently operated organisations - of, by and for mountain porters.
