Energy Saving Tips of the Month
Energy Trust of Oregon cash-back incentives, as well as federal and state energy tax credits, have been updated to help you save even more on energy-saving improvements. Some energy-saving home improvements could qualify for all three.
In addition, cash-back bonuses for making multiple improvements at the same time may save you even more. Remember to ask your contractor about special rebates offered directly by manufacturers.

Three Green Details:
RADIANT FLOOR HEATING
Water heated by a solar water heater flows through tubing in the floors to heat your home. The solar hot water heaters will also supply most of the domestic hot water.
ENERGY RECOVERY VENTILATION
These ventilators exchange indoor air for outdoor air without losing heat. The system also filters air, removing humidity, stagnant air, and any particles such as dust, pollen, and other pollutants. The ERV system is integrated with the radiant floor heating, both of which are controlled by a thermostatic touch pad. This gives the homeowner complete control over the indoor environment.
GREEN ECO-ROOF
A green roof system designed to grow plants on a rooftop environment will be visible from each roof-deck. The green eco-roof not only has environmental benefits, but it also has aesthetic and social benefits. Green roofs are very attractive and natural views have been proven to create more productive, healthy, happy, creative, and relaxed people.

BUZZ WORD OF THE MONTH
Earth Advantage New Homes Program
The Earth Advantage New Homes program is a third-party verified, green building certification that ensures the highest quality of building. The volunteer program guides builders through the building process using five environmental categories: healthy indoor air quality, environmental responsibility, resource efficiency, water conservation, and energy efficiency.
While an Earth Advantage New Home may appear quite similar to other new homes, within its shell there are significant differences. Compare a new Earth Advantage home to most other new homes, and you will discover features that positively affect energy efficiency, indoor air quality, environmental impact, and occupants' overall comfort.
