Right now From the Top has a brief 60 day window before we head out on the road again but we've been very busy with an important aspect of our program: auditioning new talent!

It's Been Quite a Summer for From the Top Alums!
From the Top alums have been busy this summer with everything from Arts Leadership projects to holding concerts to winning international competitions. Below are just a handful of summaries - check our blog for more great alumni news.

Harpist Anna DeLoi created a summer concert series with two goals: raise money for CureSearch for Childhood Cancer and share classical music with children.

On May 23 Soprano Nadine Sierra won first place in the 38th Annual Grand Finals Concert hosted by the Loren L. Zachary Society for the Performing Arts.

This August, pianist and Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Nicholas King will be participating in a week-long master class, which culminates with a concert in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

Violinist Caroline Goulding appeared with the Cleveland Orchestra on July 1 as part of the annual Star-Spangled Spectacular concert, presented by Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.

Ren Martin-Doike toured Argentina for three weeks with Indiana University’s Violin Virtuosi.

At the end of June violinist Simone Porter and cellist Nathan Chan performed in Sinagpore as part of the Great Eastern International Kids Performing Festival.

Pianist Sahun “Sam” Hong gives weekly summer recitals at Trinity Terrace Retirement Home in Fort Worth, Texas.

Chicago percussionists and Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award recipients John Ringor and Joshua Jones gave a performance and demonstration for children and their families at the Chicago Symphony Center.

Violinist Stephen Kim received the Gold Medal in the 11th California International Young Artists Violin Competition in San Diego on June 13, as well as 3rd prize in the 2nd Stradivarius International Violin Competition in Salt Lake City, Utah this July.

On Friday, July 30 pianist George Li won first place at Oberlin College’s Thomas and Evon Cooper International Competition.

Guitarist Roberto Granados was contacted by the California Symphony, who requested he join them on May 1, 2011 to perform three movements from Joaquin Rodrigo’s “Concierto de Aranjuez.”
