The goal of the Dallas Genealogical Society shall be to educate, by creating, fostering, and maintaining interest in genealogy; to assist and support the genealogy section of the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library in Dallas, Texas, or to its legal successor; and to collect, preserve, copy, and index information relating to Dallas County and its early history.

December Awards Luncheon
We look forward to seeing everyone that registered for the luncheon on Saturday, December 10th on the 7th floor in the O'Hara Room. There will be social time with drinks and snacks in the foyer prior to the meeting.
The December meeting will highlight those who have contributed to the genealogical community. The lunch will be catered by Celebration Restaurant. A brief business meeting will preceed the lunch and awards will be presented afterward. The awards include Award of Merit, Heritage Preservation Award, Lloyd DeWitt Bockstruck Distinguished Service Award and Volunteer of the Year Award.

November 2011 Newsletter
The mailed copies of the DGS Newsletter should be coming your way soon. The latest edition is now online and can be accessed by DGS members by going to the DGS website, Click on Resources page, selecting the Members Only menu option and logging in.
The 2011 Dallas Journal has been mailed so everyone should be receiving their copy very soon, if you have not received it already. .

Technology SIG Contest
Congratulation to Carolyn Davis on winning the Technology SIG Contest. Not only did she have a great presentation on creating a family album website, she also presented it by phone with Tony Hansen operating the projector. It was a very interesting project.
