Greetings Mandy!

Are you looking to sell your home or make some improvements and have some-but not unlimited-cash for upgrades? Click the link below to read some budget-minded enhancements to make your home stand out! These tips are easy and inexpensive but have amazing results!

Steering Clear of the Cold and Flu Season

1. Wash up. Experts say this is probably the single most important step you can take to avoid getting the flu.
2. Hands off. Don't touch your nose or eyes with your hands- that's the easiest way for germs to get in.
3. Get enough sleep. If you don't get enough sleep and get run down, you are more vulnerable to viruses.
4. Stay home.  If you begin to feel sick, do yourself-and others- a favor and take a break at home.
5. Finally, don't worry-be happy.
New research says that people who are happy and calm are less likely to get sick and have less severe symptoms when they do.

March Gardening Tasks

Beware the ides of March is as good a piece of advice for the gardener as it was for Julius Cesar because of the attack of late-season frosts, which are particularly dangerous when plants are beginning to leaf out with new growth. March is also the month when fierce winds, called westerlies, blow in off the Pacific Ocean. These winds heap sand into dunes and batter cypresses into artistic contortions. They also blow the gardener's body heat away and make the garden seem colder than it is.

Going Green Tip of the Month

Cook smart: Making small changes to the way you cook can definitely increase your energy efficiency.
Put a lid on pots and pans: it will decrease time on the burner.
Unplug appliances: Even when not in use, some appliances may still be consuming standby energy.
Size matters: If you are making a meal, think about using a toaster oven or the microwave—both consume significantly less energy than a regular oven.      Source: http://green.car.org
