Girls Rock! Chicago’s August Camp Needs Volunteers! Everyone at GR!C is so excited for our second camp of 2010, which will run August 2nd-8th. But we need your help! - Instrument teachers—guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, DJ (Mon-Fri, 10:30am-12:30pm)
- Band coaches (Mon-Fri, 2:30-4:30pm; Sat showcase & Sun recording)
- Women to lead workshops on music- or band-related topics like songwriting, zine making, performing, or whatever else you can dream up
- Bands with female members to perform Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday from 4:30-5:00pm

Thank You for Your Support GR!C would like to thank everyone who helped make our June camp a success. To all of our volunteers, we greatly appreciate your hard work and long hours sweltering away in those steamy classrooms. And a big thank you to all of the moms and restaurants who donated food for our hungry campers and volunteers: Susan Wilson, Sara Ross, LaShon Lewis, New York City Bagel Deli, Noodles & Company, Handlebar, Lucia's, Whole Foods, Chipotle, Starbucks, and Francesca's Forno. Extra special thanks go out to Josephinum Academy for use of their facilities, Metro for hosting the End-of-Camp Extravaganza, and Engine Studios for allowing the bands to record their songs. And of course, thanks to all of our campers and their families and anyone who came to see the girls rock out at the End-of-Camp Extravaganza. Ladies Rock Camp Photos Now on Flickr Back in May, a bunch of rad grown-up ladies got their own taste of the Girls Rock! experience with our first Ladies Rock camp. We’ve added an amazing set of photos that Amanda Barbato took during camp to our Flickr pool. Amanda’s pics are sure to inspire you to take up an instrument yourself, so contact LRC@girlsrockchicago.org if you’re interested in attending our next Ladies Rock camp. You’ll have a great time, plus tuition helps fund Girls Rock! camps so we never have to turn away girls due to financial need.
