It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we bring the following information to our friends of HorseAbility. In light of recent retirement due to medical issues, it has been determined by the vet that Zeus will need to
be euthanized due to the complications of his diagnosis, progressive
degenerative neurological disorder.
For the past few months
HorseAbility has been able to give Zeus an opportunity to enjoy his retirement here at his home with HorseAbility and all of his friends, through keeping him temporarily medically comfortable with numerous medications and LOTS OF LOVE! With keeping within humane practices,
considering Zeus' quality of life, safety concerns for him and everyone involved,
after extensive testing, two vet practices have deemed it necessary for Zeus to be put down.
As Zeus has touched many of our lives, we understand that you may wish to
share your thoughts, feelings or have further questions regarding this
determination. Please reach out to any
of the HorseAbility staff, we are all here to support one another during this
difficult time.
If you have pictures, letters, stories, drawings or anything that you would like to share with Zeus and HorseAbility honoring him for the amazing animal he is, please stop by and see us at the barn this week, contact our office at 631.367.1646 or via email info@horseability.org.
