What do you think? I decided to try a new approach to our monthly newsletter. It not only allows me to better manage mass emails but also gives me more flexibility in regards to tying it to our website.

Please give us your feedback. We want to hear what you like and what you don't like. If it does not seem to display properly, please let me know what the problem is and what browser you are using.

We would like to thank all the parents who contributed to the wonderful holiday gifts. We appreciate your thoughtfulness!

 Infants /  Young Toddlers

With the holiday season over, the infants are all doing well getting back into the swing of things. December was a whirlwind of excitement. Chloe and William enjoyed watching the older class practice for their Christmas show. The infants also had a blast bouncing to the holiday music. Kai and Frederika loved making their Christmas crafts. They were so proud of themselves when we hung them up.

January will hopefully bring even more excitement as we watch the little ones grow. Ainsley is just starting to learn to walk. Erik and Charlotte are getting better at rolling and crawling around our room. And Liam, being the youngest one, is trying hard to keep up with everybody else. Chloe, William, Kai and Frederika are really learning and using sign language as we continue to add new signs. Keep an eye out for some new signs this month!

 Older Toddlers

December was an especially busy month for us. We made many crafts for the Holidays and our classroom was sparkling with all of our glitter projects. There were stockings, trees, ornaments and more. We also practiced daily for our Holiday program. The children even made their own costumes. It turned out to be a great show and we hope you all enjoyed it. Thank you to everyone that brought goodies and helped with the party that followed.

This month is going to be all about animals. We plan on studying farm animals, zoo animals and ocean animals. It should be fun. We will let you know how it goes next month.

 Preschoolers

December was an exciting and merry month at Oak Lane. We enjoyed learning about the letters I and J. When we explored the letter I we read "It's okay to be different" and had fun making colored ice cubes for our afternoon snack. We also stamped igloos and made huge ice cream cones. When we learned about the letter J, we read "Jack and the Bean Stalk" and then we made "J's" that were covered in "magic" beans. The children loved making the Holiday Jello Jigglers.

The holidays brought many special and joyous times with our friends. We spent lots of time learning about Christmas and Hanukkah. We did many crafts such as the class Christmas tree and the menorah to name a few. The children enjoyed our visit to the Lower School for a story time with the first graders. We also watched the Lower School's Holiday Show in the theatre.

Our class had lots of fun practicing for our own holiday show. When the big day came, everyone performed well and had fun hosting their mom's and dad's for the party afterward. We all look forward to the new year and what we have in store to learn.
