Hello Music Alive volunteers Just wanted to introduce myself to everyone and apologies if we've already met! My name's Richard Wileman and I've recently started work at Music Alive as Relief Volunteer Facilitator until Martin is well enough to return.
Here are a few bits of news for my first Newsletter!
We've got a new revamped Website at:Music Alive
Do feel free to check it out - the site also has an on-line Google calendar (see 'What's Happening') that I'm maintaining - any errors/omissions/ideas for improving - email: Richard or if you want to be added as an attendee to an event so that you get a reminder in your box and an automatic addition to your electronic calendar.
We're also on the lookout for more volunteers at the moment - we've got some gaps in the weekly music sessions that need filing, so if you're interested (or know someone who might be), do get in touch with either myself or Debbie / Tel: 01793 770699. Anyone who feels they would be able to help with the promotion of Music Alive (Design, PR, whatever!) would also be very welcome.
From the 23rd May we have a week (half term) of music with under 25's interrupting the regular music sessions with adults. Session volunteers are still very welcome. Please get in touch to confirm what sessions are happening or simply turn up in your regular slot and we can do something - music or otherwise.
We have a TWIGS event on Sunday June 21st - Cheney Manor Garden Centre - music being performed by us between 11 am and 4 PM and musicians / singers / performers / ideas are welcome.
Finally - Mark and I recorded an interview with Dan and Nick from the Late Gig on Swindon 105.5FM radio which will be broadcast this Sunday 9-11pm (17th May) after they raised £200 for Music Alive with their Late Gig Charity Bash Gig II. There are plans to hold a third gig in July at 12 Bar and we've been invited to perform there if we wish. Any Music Alive players/groups interested in getting something together for this, let me know.
Best wishes, Richard
