RUNNING FOR HEALTH AND SUSTAINABILITY
Abbe Rubin (board member) and Nora Burton (staff) are lacing up their sneakers and hitting the streets on June 26th for Seattle's Rock and Roll half marathon.
They are making this run their very own “Run for Health and Sustainability” to raise funds for Sustainable Path's programs. An anonymous donor has offered to match all the donations for their effort up to $5,000! You can donate in support of their run by making an online donation.
If you are going to be in Seattle on June 26, please join us at the 11.7-mile point, Jackson and 2nd Ave S. around 9:30 a.m. to cheer the runners on! Creme Tangerine (Beatles cover band) will be playing and it is easy to get there by bus.
SAVE THE DATE FOR GRANTEE CELEBRATION
Come celebrate our 2009 and 2010 grantees on Monday, July 26, 5-7 p.m. We can’t promise that the weather will be more pleasant than at last year’s celebration (remember how beastly hot it was?) but we can promise you the opportunity to hear about the accomplishments of our 2009 grantees, introductions to our 2010 grantees, interesting conversations and good food and drink.
JOB OPPORTUNITY AT CLIMATE SOLUTIONS
Climate Solutions, is seeking a Project Coordinator for the New Energy Cities project, a project that we, through our competitive grants program, have helped to support. More information about this opportunity can be found here.
JUNE IDEA CLUB - SUSTAINABLE FOOD SYSTEMS
Our second seminar, A Conversation About Our Food and Eating, was last week. It proved to be a lively and interesting conversation with Mary Embleton, Executive Director of Cascade Harvest Coalition, and Britt Yamamoto, Core Faculty at the Center for Creative Change at Antioch University. Come to Idea Club to continue this conversation about sustainable food systems.
Idea Club will meet June 28th from 5-7 p.m. Anyone with an interest in sustainable food systems is welcome. Please let us know if you plan to attend (RSVP).
