Wrapping Up a Year of Change

SEATTLE BIOTECH LEGACY FOUNDATION IS NOW SUSTAINABLE PATH FOUNDATION!

2009 Grant Applications Rolling In
We are ending the year on a high note; the Letters of Inquiry for our 2009 Grant Cycle are starting to come in.  At Sustainable Path Foundation, this is one of the most exciting projects of the year.  We always look forward to learning about organizations that are new to us and about cutting-edge projects that address sustainability concerns in our region.   Letters of Inquiry are due on January 7th, and funding decisions will be made in late spring.  Watch throughout the year for notices of the accomplishments of our grantees.

January 26th, Idea Club
Join us on January 26th for an informal discussion of ideas relating to fresh water!  Have resources you want to share?  Post them on the Idea Club Blog.

Some Things Never Change
Fundraising is one activity that does not change – we count on your generous donations to do our work.  This year more than ever, it is important to get money to the organizations that are doing critical sustainability work in our region.  By making a donation to Sustainable Path Foundation, you are supporting our work to promote sustainability and collaboration, and contributing to the funds that will be distributed in our 2009 cycle. Please remember to send in your donation today.  Thank you!

Board Changes
Sustainable Path Foundation thanks departing board members Janis Wignall and Kyoko Maruyama for their years of service, and welcomes new board members Matt Chadsey and Lowell Ericsson

Janis Wignall was a member of the Founding Advisory Group and has contributed much over her 6 years on the foundation board.  Her focus has been programmatic, including serving on the Grants Committee and leading the Imagine Cascadia project.  We thank her for all her contributions.

Kyoko Maruyama has served on the foundation board for 4 years, helping in many capacities.  She chaired the 2008 Seminar Series Committee and always stepped up to help in the many functions needed by a volunteer organization.  We look forward to Kyoko’s continuing contributions to the Grants Committee.

Matt Chadsey and Lowell Ericsson were both elected to the Sustainable Path Foundation board in November.  Matt will co-chair the Collaborative Programming Committee with David Cosman.  Lowell serves on the Grants, Investment, Engagement and Seminar Committees.   We look forward to their contributions and leadership during their two-year board terms.

Wrapping Up A Year of Change
Thank you to all our dedicated volunteers, our generous donors, our many excellent collaborators, advisors, and consultants who helped us this year, and our grantees who do the work that makes a difference.  All of you contributed to a productive year of change.  We look forward to the new year and what it will bring, and wish you all a healthy 2009!!
