MARCH 2010 E-NEWS

PARTICIPATING  IN OUR GROUP PHILANTHROPY AND THE GIVING PROCESS
One of the benefits of becoming a Sustainable Path Foundation Group Philanthropy Partner is the opportunity to leverage your donation across a strategic selection of targeted sustainability projects. Together, we fund both established and emerging nonprofit organizations doing innovative and cutting-edge work with the potential for systemic impact.

Sustainable Path Foundation is currently in the midst of our 2010 grant cycle. If you join us as a Group Philanthropy Partner, you have the unique opportunity to be involved with our grantmaking process now and to see what projects you will be supporting.

How you can participate:

Group Philanthropy Partners are invited to:

•    Learn about the inspiring projects proposed by our final group of grant applicants by reading portions of their grant applications.
•    Attend a site visit with other Group Philanthropy Partners and meet grant applicants.
•    Cast a vote to help allocate a portion of our grant funds.

We received a record 48 grant requests in response to our 2010 Request for Proposals from organizations doing sustainability work in the Puget Sound region! Unfortunately, there are always more interesting and deserving projects than we can fund. Our Grants Committee had the challenging task of vetting all of the requests and selecting the ones most consistent with our mission and budget.  We selected 12 projects, for which we have invited full proposals.  Our Grants Committee will review the full proposals, lead site visits, and continue the selection process through the spring, with decisions on our final 2010 grant docket in late May.

Want to learn more?

If you are interested in participating in this process, or just want to learn more, please join us for a Group Philanthropy Information Session on March 25th.  Email or call (206-443-8464) to reserve a spot.

Already a Group Philanthropy Partner?

Thank you!  It is through your generosity that we are able to continue our programs.  Watch for e-mails with more details on participating in our grant-making process.  Please also SAVE THE DATE  FOR A PARTNER FOCUS GROUP AT 5 PM ON TUESDAY, APRIL 6.  We want to learn more about what is important to you and how we can improve your experience as a Partner.
