Lagoon News e-Update for November 21, 2009
Dear Geoffrey,
Work Party plans include invasive removal and trail pruning on the north shore
Monthly Work Party on Saturday, November 21
This month we'll be working the north shore of the Lagoon, west of Interstate 5. We'll be picking up trash, removing invasive plants such as Castor
Bean, Horseweed, Fennel, and Iceplant, and pruning trail. I hope you can join us for a morning of vigorous exercise.
To join the festivities for this month's work party, send email to workparties@sanelijo.org
to register and receive an auto-reply back with all the details of
time, place and how to prepare. We'll be done by 11:00 am. Trail
snacks are provided by our good friends at Adventure16. Questions? Contact Geoffrey
Many of you have asked about the mattress, featured in our last issue, and the subject of a coordinated removal effort during October's work party. I'm happy to report, the operation was successful! We removed a very heavy, very soggy, Sealy Posturepedic mattress (size queen) which no doubt flew off of a happy new owner's car on the way home, landed in the lagoon channel beneath I-5, then made it's way to the south side on the tides.
