Lagoon News e-Update for December 28, 2009
Dear Geoffrey,
The Years Change and the Commitment Grows
2009 was a great year for the Conservancy, and we hope for you, too! Perhaps the biggest news for the past year was the dedication of the County of San Diego's San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve Nature Center in January. The Conservancy manages all of the educational and interpretive programs originating from that state of the art LEED Platinum certified facility, and more exciting partnerships await. Hundreds of community members learned about the watershed through our Docent Training Program, and Lagoon Day events in May (save the date for Lagoon Day 2010 on May 15.) The Conservancy continues to demonstrate leadership in science-based habitat restoration and land stewardship through programs such as BioBlitz, Bight '08, CRAM, and Lagoon restoration planning, while our community-based restoration events and land owner contact programs are building broad support for healthy ecosystems in many quarters. The entire staff of the Conservancy thanks you for your continuing support and involvement, and wishes you a successful 2010.

Our Winter Lecture Series Offers Unique Opportunities for Learning
