Apprenticeship framework for the third sector - get involved!

ImageSkills – Third Sector is writing a framework for apprenticeships to meet the needs of third sector organisations.

Third sector organisations have a particular role to play in developing apprenticeships that train people in skills that third sector organisations need, such as campaigning or fundraising, to help them make a difference to people and their communities. It is these apprenticeships that the framework will be designed to support.

Skills - Third Sector are running a free event on February 4, where you can join 50 other key third sector organisations to:

  • Find out about funding and how apprenticeships can improve your organisation’s performance
  • Sign up to be one of the 5,000 organisations to get a £2,500 Golden Hello
  • Get involved in the consultation on the framework
  • Hear from people running apprenticeships in charities
  • Discuss barriers to apprenticeships and how to overcome them
  • Get practical advice on how you can set up an apprenticeship in your organisation
Find out more about the event and apprenticeships at:

How effective is your organisations workforce?

ImageThe Workforce Wheel is a tool that takes an outcomes approach to all aspects of people management.

The Wheel is easy to use and aims to help voluntary and community organisations understand where they want to get to as they grow into their full potential.

Effectively, it is a model of a high performing organisation with strong leadership.

Sample policies and job descriptions available at HRBank

ImageWorkforce Development's online HRBank has recently been updated - we have added 48 new policies and job descriptions since September 2009.

The HRBank is a collection of human resources policies and job descriptions donated by voluntary and community organisations, which are available for organisations to amend and tailor to their own needs.

We encourage other third sector organisations to share their policies, and we are developing a listing of those willing to do so.

Please get in touch if you are willing to share your policies and job descriptions with other third sector organisations.
