A System for Every Budget - Discount Offer
"How much is it going to cost to set up a compost system for my farm?"
As sure as the sun rises in the East and sets in the West, this is a question that I am asked every day by people who are thinking about composting horse manure on their farm. In looking at the economics of composting, an important question to ask yourself is "How much is it costing me not to compost?" In other words, "What expenses could be alleviated by composting and what opportunities am I missing by not composting?"
To address these questions, I wrote an article called "Composting Economics" that can be viewed on our website.
Uncertain Economic Times
There are many compelling reasons to begin composting on your farm, however if it doesn’t make economic sense – especially now in these uncertain times – then you are apt to think that it will have to wait. However, O2Compost now offers a compost system for every budget, as described on the O2C Systems page on our website.
February Discount Offer
Winter is the ideal time to begin your planning and design process and, therefore, during the month of February we are offering additional savings for those who choose to TAKE ACTION now. The following discounts apply for each of our Compost Systems, as described below:
-
Micro-Bin - Save $100 (with balance paid in full);
-
Cornerstone - Save $250 (with partial payment of $750); and
-
Sterling/Paragon - Save $500 (with partial payment of $1,500).
Micro-Bin Compost System
Our Micro-Bin kit is ideal for farms with 1 to 4 horses and can be set up within a budget of $1,000 or less. It is also an excellent way to begin aerated composting as a way to validate the process for farms of all sizes. For those who later upgrade to our Cornerstone Compost System (as described below) you will receive credit for 50% of your initial investment; and for those who upgrade to our Sterling Compost System, you will receive credit for 100%.
Cornerstone Compost System
Our Cornerstone Compost System is ideal for the hands-on horse owner with both construction know-how and prior composting experience. To offer the greatest flexibility for constructing an economical aerated compost system, the various components have been divided out and may be purchased separately or in any combination. The complete Cornerstone Compost System is priced at $2,175 and the materials for a compost structure can be purchased for as little as $1,800 for a 3-bay system without a roof.
Sterling Compost System
Our Sterling Compost System is ideal for the horse owner who has no prior construction or composting experience and for situations where a stable manager and crew will be responsible for overseeing the composting process and developing markets for the finished product. With the Sterling Compost System, operating instructions are provided in both English and Spanish. It also includes a laboratory test of the finished compost and assistance with setting up a marketing program for sale of the compost into your local community. The Sterling Compost System price ranges from $3,275 to $5,275, depending on the type and size of equipment purchased. The cost of construction depends on the size and style selected and the building materials used.
Least Cost Way to Get Started - Free Standing Aerated Static Pile
The equipment provided with both the Cornerstone and Sterling Compost Systems can be used to construct a free-standing aerated static pile as a way to get started for as little as $250 in locally purchased aeration pipe. You can literally be up and running by the end of next week. The added advantage of beginning with an aerated static pile is that it will confirm the volumes of manure and spent bedding materials that you actually generate, which will then be used as our design basis for your permanent compost system.
