Halloween SPORTS Camp Session #3 October 20-22 at Green Oak Ranch in Vista

S4EA SPORTS Camp Session #3 on October 20-22 at Green Oak Ranch in Vista (1237 Green Oak Road, Vista 92081) offers a general program of camp & sports activities as well as Halloween fun. Join in the fun trick-or-treating, visiting the Haunted House and Nature Center, going on a Hayride, playing various sports, dancing, showing your talent at the Talent Show, and participating in various other camp activities. Athletes spend 2 nights in cabins under the guidance of chaperones/camp counselors. Persons with disabilities, families, friends, volunteers, coaches & supporters are all welcome to join S4EA at camp. Session #3 is not recommended for athletes using wheelchairs. The S4EA SPORTS Camp Registration Fee is $165 per session to help pay for lodging, meals, insurance, supplies, etc. Mail Fee & S4EA Camp Registration Form as soon as possible to S4EA (9575 Aero Drive #B, SD, CA 92123). SPORTS Camp – Chaperones Needed!

Volunteers ages 18 & over are needed to chaperone for Halloween SPORTS Camp #3 October 20-22 at Green Oak Ranch in Vista. Family and friends are welcome to chaperone. No experience needed. Click here for Chaperone Registration Form. Call S4EA at 858-565-7432 to sign-up.

S4EA Athlete Council Activities - Halloween Party October 14

The S4EA/Jani Tyler Halloween Party, for registered S4EA athletes, is scheduled for Sat, October 14 from 5-8pm at the Church of Latter Day Saints in Mira Mesa (11023 Pegasus, San Diego 92126). Halloween Costumes are encouraged; No masks at all; Costume Parade with Prizes; DJ to provide music; Light Dinner served. Must be pre-registered to attend. Must RSVP to S4EA at 858-565-7432 by Oct. 9.

Upcoming S4EA activities include Bunco on Friday, Nov 3 from 6-8pm at S4EA/North Shores, S4EA Holiday Party on Sunday, Dec 10 from 4:30-7pm at Eagles Aerie, and Holiday Bowl Parade featuring S4EA athletes on Thursday, Dec 28 from 9-11:30am at County Admin Bldg. on Harbor Dr. More information in November Newsletter.

Kaaboo Music Festival

S4EA ran 2 drink booths at the Kaaboo Music Festival September 15-17 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds with S4EA making over $10,000. 73 volunteers worked 786 hours on 131 shifts. Thanks!

Volunteers Needed in S4EA Office

Volunteers are needed to help with various office projects including mail-outs, newsletters, etc. Call S4EA at 858-565-7432 to help.

Disneyland Resort Tickets

The Disneyland Resort Community Involvement Program (CIP) for athletes with disabilities ticket order process has the following 2018 dates: Tue Jan 9 - Thu Jan 11, Tue Jan 16 - Sat Jan 20, Sun Jan 21 - Thu Jan 25, Mon Jan 29 - Sat Feb 3, Mon Feb 5 – Sat Feb 10, Mon Feb 12 – Sat Feb 17, Sun Feb 18 – Wed Feb 21 (no Feb 20).

Ticket prices (includes parking): $59 1-Day, 1 Park Ticket, $88 1-Day Park Hopper Ticket (both Disneyland Park & Disney California Adventure Park).

Subscribe to Practice Calendar and never miss a Practice

The S4EA website now offers the option to subscribe to calendars for each sport and practice site. Your favorite email or calendar program (Outlook etc.) on your computer or phone will always contain up-to-date information regarding your sports practices including time and location. You may find this option on all the Sport’s pages or the News & Events page. Android users may need to install WebCal-Sync. Check it out!

How to Register in SPORTS

If you are interested in becoming an athlete in SPORTS for Exceptional Athletes, please call the S4EA Office at 858-565-7432 and we will mail you a Registration Packet. You can also download registration information (Individual Sport, Team Sport) directly from the SPORTS for Exceptional Athletes website at Registration Fee is $20 per sport (scholarships available). S4EA offers 24 sports: baseball, basketball, bocce, bowling, cross country/downhill skiing, cycling, figure/speed skating, flag football, floor hockey, golf, judo, sailing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, soccer, softball, swimming, table tennis, tennis, track, volleyball & walking/ running/ exercise.

In team sports, teams may be made up of athletes with developmental disabilities, families, friends, and others in the community who want to play on inclusive teams.

SPORTS for Exceptional Athletes (S4EA) is a sports program serving over 1,400 athletes with developmental disabilities ages 5 through adult in San Diego County.

We Need Your Help

SPORTS for Exceptional Athletes is a volunteer-based community-wide program that needs your help:

  • To serve as coach, event organizer, fundraiser, sports official, or other worker. Read more
  • To provide sports facilities, equipment, meals, and other in-kind services.
  • To provide operating funds for the SPORTS for Exceptional Athletes program here in San Diego County. SPORTS for Exceptional Athletes is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization (ID #20-8886536). Contributions are tax deductible as allowed by law. Donate Now
  • To donate a vehicle to S4EA, call toll free 855-500-7433 or click here; free pick-up; tax receipt provided; and no smog certificate required.


Volunteers are needed as coaches for the Fall Season in bowling, flag football, floor hockey, golf, ice skating, swimming, table tennis, and volleyball. You do not need any prior experience in the sport or working with persons with developmental disabilities, just a desire to help. Head coaches run the practices, while assistant coaches help the athletes under the direction of the head coach in teaching the athletes various sports skills. Volunteers also act as scorekeepers and timers in team sports league play. Coaches spend 2-3 hours weekly for a 3 month period. Call S4EA Office at 858-565-7432 or visit to get involved.
