New Fall Sites

Girls on the Run® of Atlanta (GOTR) welcomes back our returning sites and is excited to be working with a number of new sites! We anticipate a wonderful fall season, with a great group of girls and coaches.  Check  our locations page for details on sites and meeting times.

Looking for a Great Way to Give Back?

Join SoleMates, the adult charity running leg of Girls on the Run® (GOTR). SoleMates is a group of male and female athletes who pursue individual goals, such as running a 5K or marathon, to raise money for local Girls on the Run® councils. As an Atlanta SoleMates team member, you can make a difference in the lives of metro-Atlanta girls by sponsoring a girl's participation in the program. Last year's team raised enough money to fund 58 full-scholarships. The SoleMates kick-off and run will be held September 19th at West Stride. Check out upcoming SolesMates events and how to get involved

Community Partner Running Events

Girls on the Run® of Atlanta is excited to announce our official fall and spring SoleMate running events. Our fall event will be the 2009 Atlanta Marathon and Half-Marathon. You can help raise awareness of Girls on the Run® of Atlanta by indicating that you are running on behalf of Girls on the Run® of Atlanta. Fundraising is not necessary, and every runner who signs up on our behalf allows us to be eligible to secure an exhibit tent on the day of the event.

We are also thrilled to once again select the ING Marathon as our spring event. Registrants who register on behalf of Girls on the Run® of Atlanta and enter our charity code will receive a $5 entry discount for the half-marathon or $10 discount for the marathon.  Contact us for more info.

Community Partners

Atlanta Hawks Foundation

Girls on the Run® of Atlanta is proud to add the Atlanta Hawks Foundation to its list of financial supporters and community partners! In August, Girls on the Run® received a generous grant from the Atlanta Hawks Foundation that will help fund our program outreach and provide scholarships to deserving Atlanta girls.
The Atlanta Hawks Foundation is dedicated to supporting Georgia-based organizations committed to improving the lives of children. The Foundation works with children's charities and programs that focus on the areas of health, wellness, and education.

GOTR on the Right Track with Partnerships

Girls on the Run® girls will be sporting new running tees, with help from local partner, the Atlanta Track Club, who awarded the Atlanta council a grant to cover program materials. The Atlanta Track Club Foundation, Inc. was founded in the late 1980's with a mission to promote track and field, distance running, and allied events in the State of Georgia. We appreciate their support!

Support Our Running Store Partners

Phidippides and WestStride stores are wonderful resources for runners in Atlanta and strong supporters of the many Girls on the Run®  programs throughout the year.  You can support them by checking out the many events at their stores and to think of them the next time you are shopping for running gear.  Make sure to ask about the discounts for Girls on the Run® participants and volunteers! read more
