Team Tiara Shines at the ING 
Great job to all the wonderful men and women that ran the Georgia ING Marathon and Half Marathon to benefit Girls on the Run of Atlanta. This year marks the first time that the Atlanta Council formed a Team Tiara team - and WOW what a team! read more
 
Be a Buddy!  
For race day safety, all Girls on the Run participants need to run with a Running Buddy. Parents and adult siblings or friends can be running buddies. All Running buddies need to register. read more

Volunteer Appreciation Night  
Tuesday, April 19th 6-9pm, Phidippides at Sandy Springs.  Join us for a evening of socializing and shopping while Girls on the Run of Atlanta celebrates the amazing volunteers delivering the program and making a difference in the lives of girls in greater Atlanta!  Preview the new GOTR New Balance apparel just in time for spring  read more   
 
GOTR End of Season 5K Event, April 19th, 8am  
We will be participating in Radiant Systems' "Sprint for Cancer 5K" at Atlantic Station on Sunday, April 19th at 8am.  Girls currently enrolled in the spring GOTR programs are registered for the race.  Parents, siblings and friends who want to sign up to be a running buddy need to register at www.sprintforcancer.com read more
 
New & Returning Site Deadlines 
Site agreements and paperwork for returning sites must be completed by the May 1st deadline date. New site paperwork is due by the June 1st deadline.
 
Phidippides Ladies Night, May 20th, 6:30pm             
Women's Clinic at the Ansley Mall store.  Guest speaker, Theresa Wenzel, Associate Athletic Director at Georgia Tech.  Info on Womens' nutrition, strength training and skin care.
 

Our Personal Best

High Meadows Supa' Star Wins 10K! 

Congratulations to Kate Beecham, a student at High Meadows MS. Kate placed 1st in her age group at the March 14th Northpoint Pediatrics Jog for the Cause 10K, benefitting a cure for childrens' cancer. Way to go Kate!
 

Team Tiara Triumph

At last weekend's ING, first time marathoner, Shikha Nigam was a great example of the GOTR principal of setting a goal and making it happen. A novice runner, Shikha stuck with her goal to train with Team Tiara to run and complete her first marathon. She stuck to it and crossed the finish line within her goal time!

Bill & Jeannie Ackerman Foundation Supports Scholarship Recipients

As anticipated, the downturn in the economy has led to an increase in scholarship requests. Thanks in part to a grant from the Bill and Jeannie Ackerman Foundation, we were able to provide scholarships to all who requested them.
