Patient Survey on Stigma
The University of California at San
Francisco is conducting a study into the stigma associated with lung
cancer. "We realize that this stigma affects how lung cancer patients
seek treatment, interact with people around them, and feel about their
diagnosis. We feel that by understanding the stigma, we can help lung
cancer patients have a better quality of life."
The UCSF Lung Cancer Stigma, Symptom
Severity, and Quality of Life Study seeks to understand the opinions
and experiences of ALL persons with lung cancer including smokers,
ex-smokers, and NEVER smokers. We understand that attitudes and opinions
about lung cancer affect all persons with lung cancer, regardless of
your smoking status or if you never smoked a cigarette in your life.
