God is Good – All the time!
When things don’t go as we plan, our frail human spirit often doubts this infinite fact. At the end of March, when our discussions over the purchase of a Farm in Romania broke down due to ‘Documentation’ problems – we wondered ‘Why?’ Why God, would this have happened?
As is always the case and experience should reassure us, God is in Control! When things don’t quite work out as hoped, we can be sure He will be leading towards something better.
So it has been in our new Enterprise Initiative and specific efforts to purchase a Farm to start us on the way to greater Self Sufficiency within Romania as well as providing employment opportunities for Romanians struggling with the country’s desperate economy.
Less than a month ago, having visited several Farm
options that where up for Sale, we came across a beautifully cute facility in the village of Arpasel. (APARCHEL) A couple of miles beyond Salonta (the next major city from Oradea towards Arad) our current project in Gepiu is half way and on route, between Cihei and Arpasel.
The main business has been Pig Production, with current capacity of up to 1,800 heads a year.
The Farm also has a wonderfully mature Orchard of 170 fruit trees, providing beautiful Apples, Plums and Apricots by the bucket load. There is a Farm House
with the Business comprising 4 rooms and plans will be formulated to renovate and modernise it this summer.
The Business comes with 15 hectares (36 acres) of arable land, but perhaps most amazing of all is the Thermal Water Well located on the property, quoted to produce water at 60c. (140f.) which could be an incredible blessing and resource for the development of the Horticultural Business planned for 2011/12 with special advisors – Paul and Alison Jeanes.
Our purchase offer for the Business on May 8th was
accepted on May 10th and since then our Business Consultants and Attorney in Romania have been dealing with the Documentation for a Purchase Contract.
On May 28th, we held important final talks on completion with the owners and our legal advisors. A tense couple of hours resulted in everything being agreed to our complete satisfaction and now Smiles has its first Major Farm as part of the ‘Enterprise Initiative’.
By way of further update, we continue to need support for this initiative to develop the Farm and establish the
Horticultural Business. We set a target of £550,000 ($880,000) needed by September 30th 2010.
We are currently short of the total and need a further £99,117 ($153,631).
The support and pledges to date have been amazing.
Please continue to help us reach our goal by September 30th 2010.

Keep in touch.
Keep Praying
With sincere thanks and appreciation
