Hello Friends,

Already nearing the end of November!  I've got quite a few things to share with you and then it's right back to printing around here. This newsletter is lengthy, but I hope you enjoy the new work and projects.

The 2010 SATSUMA PRESS CALENDAR is all ready to go, packaged up in glassine with pretty patterned masking tape from Japan.  There is a lot of new artwork in this calendar - botanicals, patterns and feathers.  It's a slightly narrower format this year at 6" x 11" - on 100% cotton Lettra, and tied together with cotton ribbon.  The retail price is $44 + shipping.  You can order by emailing me directly at lynn@satsumapress.com or through my online shops here and here.  Read on to the end to see how you can enter to win a free 2010 calendar ...

PERPETUAL CALENDARS are in the works right now and will be ready for you in about a week.  There will be two version of this functional calendar – one with a selection of my own designs and illustrations and one with small snippets of gorgeous Japanese washi as seen in the photo at the start of this newsletter.  Both are printed on lush 100$ cotton paper, just 4.25 x 11 inches.  The text is printed in slate grey ink with a blank line for you to write in birthdays, anniversaries or perhaps use as a quick daily journal to capture a fragment of your day.  These would make wonderful gifts for yourself or a loved one, to be enjoyed and used for many years to come.

Believe me, I am working furiously to have these ready for you.  Please drop me a line at lynn@satsumapress.com if you are interested.  The price is $28 each + shipping or one of each for $50 + shipping.  I'm only printing about 55 of each right now.  I will have them with me, fingers crossed, at the upcoming Sunday Best Holiday Sale in Portland the weekend after Thanksgiving.  This is the only sale I am participating in this season – and it is chockful of artists whose work I adore.  Please come by if you're local to the area. (I'll have a box of bargains with me at the sale – stationery designs that I'm pulling from rotation for a while so I can refocus and refresh ... $10 and under!)

Last of all:  I was flattered to be asked to contribute a blogger's favorite list to Simply Lovely.  It's up today and you can view it right here.  The images above are all my own and links are provided in the post.  Many of the items listed are made by fellow independent artists, crafted with care and attention to detail, just plain well made or well done.  Psst – leave a comment over there for a chance to win a 2010 Satsuma Press Calendar, but do it by Tuesday at 6 pm CST.  I post, some times more than others, over at my online journal – and that's a good way to keep up to date on the news around here, if you'd like.

As ever, thank you for reading and thank you for the support.

All the best,

Lynn
