Make the Most of TechSoup Canada's Donations Program - Fiscal Year End

Important Announcement

Reminder! Fiscal Year End- Place Donation Requests Before June 30

Make sure your organization gets all of the hardware or software it needs from TechSoup Canada before our fiscal year ends on June 30, 2011.

Why the rush? Most of TechSoup Canada's donation programs limit the number of requests an organization can place per fiscal year - our fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30. Don't worry, you can request products again on July 1, but you don't want to miss out on getting your fiscal year 2011 allotment. Read More..

The only product affected is Sage Simply Accounting Pro 2009. Also, should you require a refund by cheque, expect delays based on disruptions to Canada Post Services.

From the Blog & Hot Topics from the Web
  • Canada’s Federal and Provincial Privacy Laws for Nonprofits - This post explains what privacy laws Canadian organizations need to be aware of and how to know whether they apply to you.
  • Online Community Meetup: The Five Steps to Growing an Engaged Online Community - Learn from Care2's online community success. In short: create critical mass, get engaging content in front of members, give positive feedback, maintain members' trust and make it sustainable.
  • 25 SMART Social Media Objectives - Even though we know goals are important, we often don't set them. What I like about this post is that Beth Kanter doesn't just talk about the importance of goal setting, she provides a long list of sample goals.
  • Turning Statistics into a Compelling Story - Is your nonprofit's work (let's be honest!) a bit boring? In this video interview, an environmental organization shares how they were in this situation: wanting to research pollution levels in a specific area, but realizing their report would be so boring that it wouldn't get much attention. What did they do instead? They researched the levels of toxins in breast milk. Not surprisingly, a lot of people took notice and they were able to drive concrete changes as a result.
  • 10 Common Mistakes Made by Nonprofits on Social Media - For example: using a horizontal logo, not adding social networking icons to your website and posting only (boring) marketing content.
