Julie's Report The Salem County War Veterans Park and Cemetery Committal Shelter program is well under way, according to Lester Harris, speaking on behalf of the committee that has been recognized by resolution by the Salem County freeholders.
Plans for the committal shelter have progressed with the goal of starting construction around the first of March, weather permitting.
The shelter will allow families and friends of war veterans and their spouses to attend graveside services in comfort, protected from inclement weather at the cemetery in Pilesgrove Township .
The shelter is being funded by contributions from the general public and local businesses and organizations. Response has been encouraging, but more contributions are needed to build a shelter in which veterans and their families will be proud to hold services.
If you wish to help, please fill out the form, enclose your contribution and mail it to the address listed below. The committee thanks you for your consideration. The committee greatly appreciates all contributions. No amount is too small.
Please include name and address and make check payable to SCWVC Improvement Fund. Mail donations in care of The Bank, 125 Route 45, Salem , NJ 08079 .
The Bank has graciously volunteered to handle this account for the committal shelter.

It could be a heroic event or a consistent devotion to a specific cause.
A panel of community leaders will review the entries and choose the winners. If you know a good Samaritan please let us know. Please go on the website link below to complete the form, and return to the Clerk's Office. Thank you for your participation in this special recognition.
