5 WEEKS TO GO

  In This Issue

 It's about time...

This week, Awesome Sock Guy explains why a 24 hour race is far more than the time you spend on the bike, and far more than than the race itself. Go Here

 Pedalling wares

Pedals_180_2px.jpg

We've got a burning need for your dead or dying SPD pedals. The first 10 pairs to arrive at Race Rego will earn the owners a gift for their effort. It will all make sense during the presentations.

 Rider Tip #1

DON'T RUBBISH SPARROW!
You need to take out what you bring to the event. Bring some garbage bags to put general rubbish in and bring containers to correctly dispose of things like cooking fat, coffee grounds etc. Leave nothing behind when you leave. There will be plenty of trash packs around the venue to help.

 GOT A HOT TIP?

If you have one thing you think is essential to your camping or team's racing experience. Shoot it to us HERE and we'll post the best ones in the next newsletter.

 STAY IN THE LOOP

If you have missed any of our Newsletters, you can view them HERE.

Welcome to Newsletter #4. Take a few minutes to read it through and then send it on to your teammates. We look forward to seeing you at the Mont soon. Keep the rubber side down!

The SRAM Pro Rider ExperienceSRAM_180px.jpg

Ever wondered what it would be like to be looked after like a pro? At the Mont you can! Throughout the race, SRAM will select riders at random (as they come through transition), take them to SRAM HQ, dial in their ride AND swap out a key piece of equipment for some BRAND NEW KIT!  It could be new forks, new brakes, a fresh derailleur, a cluster and chain or even new cranks. Nifty.

What's the catch? Simple, if you are selected, you must have the work done to your bike right away... if not, the rider behind you will get it instead.

A message from Cadel!Cadel_180px.jpg

We all know Cadel Evans as the reigning World Road Cycling Champion, two-time runner-up in the Tour de France and his triple Olympian status. What some of you may not realise is that Cadel was also a tour de force on a mountain bike, dominating the XC racing scene through the 1990s and early 2000s before switching to road racing.

Of course, we'd love to say right now that Cadel is coming to rail around Sparrow Hill with you all at the Mont, but he can't make it. However, he did take time to write a message to you, which we think is very cool. Go HERE

Souvenir T-Shirts & Posters
1 WEEK LEFT TO PLACE YOUR ORDER!
Shirt_180px.jpg

This year's Mont T-shirt design reminds us of vintage surf shirts, fish and chips and chocky milkshakes from the local milk bar... all feel good classics. Like last year, the print run will be strictly limited, so pre-ordering will be almost the only way to get one. You can order one here or arm wrestle someone who did. ORDER HERE

This year's poster is a cracker too. A shame we never got to hang any before the Mont sold out. Seeing as there was no opportunity to pinch one from your bike shop window, we'll be printing a limited run for all you art lovers.

Orders are to be collected from the REGO TENT.

Rear Number PlatesHowsMy_180px.gif

There's plenty of passing during a 24 hour race. Actually, if you counted them all there'd be thousands. It's a two person manoeuvre, and done well, passing can be safe, smooth and pleasant. Done poorly, it can be stressful and downright dangerous. In an effort to promote a high standard of rider etiquette (particular when passing), rear numbers will be issued to all riders at the Mont. These must be fitted to the seat rails of your bike and be visible from behind at all times. More details about this new system will be explained at the rider briefing.

Update your Team Details Now!
