PPRC recognized by Seattle Business magazine for outstanding work

Seattle Business magazine announced the winners of the 2011 Green Washington Awards at a dinner and awards ceremony Sept. 21, 2011, at the Fremont Studios in Seattle. PPRC was selected as the runner-up in the Nonprofit Category this year for the work it’s done over the past 20 years to help Washington businesses enhance their environmental performance while improving their economic vitality. Oregon Clean and Safe Project

PPRC worked with ORACWA in 2009 to develop detailed chemical source profiles and to draft pollution prevention plans for the 118 persistent bio-accumulative chemicals listed in Senate Bill 737. These plans were provided to ORACWA members (Oregon wastewater treatment facilities) that are required to monitor and reduce these chemicals in their wastewater, if they are found over a threshold amount. 20 Years of PPRC - The Event

In September, we brought together some or our closest friends and supporters to help us celebrate our 20-year anniversary and help us plan for the next 20. We were visually reminded of the strong partnerships we've formed and the significant amounts of support we've received over our two decades in this video that captures the essence of PPRC. Project update: DERA

Our DERA partnership continues moving forward with more and more installations each month resulting in less fuel use and fewer emissions into our communities. What exactly is this project? New Pollution Prevention Planning Tool from Washington Department of Ecology

Pollution Prevention Planners will find their reporting easier using TurboPlan, Washington Department of Ecology’s new online reporting software. Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, Two Employees Receive Pollution Prevention Awards

Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has been in the business to reduce pollution for many years, which has led to incredible environmental gains.  Recently, the agency and two employees (one former, one current) received special honors at our 20th Anniversary banquet in Seattle.  Director Pedersen was present and accepted the agency’s P2 Heroes award, which partially reads, “In appreciation for the many years of dedicated service to pollution prevention in the Northwest and the leadership and support…” Read more about the awardees...


Updated P2 GHG and Cost Savings Tools and Webinar

The U.S. EPA Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention recently presented a webinar showing an overview of P2 tools designed to help measure the environmental and economic performance results of pollution prevention activities. NEWMOA Launches Online Repository of P2 Data Collection Tools

Our P2RX partners at NEWMOA developed this online resource to enable P2 and environmental assistance programs to share their P2 data collection tools. The overall purpose of this effort is to provide a way for programs to share these tools so that they can learn from each other and not have to reinvent them. Users can customize their search based on the relevant sector or topic, type of P2 activity, or type of P2 data collection tool used. They can also Add their own data collection tools to the system.
