| ENACT Celebrates Respect For All Week | |
| For the week of March 8-12, ENACT joined all NYC schools, Department of Education, and City Council in celebrating the first ever Respect For All Week to promote a safe and supportive learning environment free from harassment, intimidation, and bullying. In honor of Respect for All Week, all ENACT lessons and activities addressed the negative impact of stereotyping, prejudice, and discrimination and explored ways to interrupt bias-based behavior. Specially tailored ENACT programs took place throughout the City, including at M.S. 167, Belmont Preparatory High School, School for International Studies, Brooklyn Preparatory High School, P.S. 329, PULSE High School, and I.S. 228. | |
It’s been an exciting month at Legacy! During Respect For All Week, City Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn (District 3) paid a visit to Legacy School for Integrated Studies, for a discussion with ENACT students on diversity and respect. Earlier in the week, City Council Member Robert Jackson (District 7), Chair of the Council Education Committee, dropped in on a student workshop at Legacy. During the workshop, Council Member Jackson played a disruptive student in a role play activity in front of the class. For the past three years, the City Council’s Dropout Prevention & Intervention Initiative has funded ENACT in three NYC schools with high dropout rates, including Legacy. Help us get this important initiative renewed! Contact Johanna Creswell at johanna.creswell@enact.org to find out how you can show your support of ENACT in order to keep us in Legacy and our other Dropout Prevention schools! |
